What is Outtloud?

Outtloud is a private Australian site located in Sydney, Australia. Outtloud was formed in June 2006 after much research onto the worldwide music industry and years of experience working in the background with some major bands and engineers.

Outtloud's core business is providing a focused search engine, band directory and digital music sales on the World Wide Web for bands and consumers alike to purchase and promote direct music sales with or without labels, companies, contracts or consumption of money. The search engine will allow artists to take back control of their music, profits and distribution and consumers will able to not only make contact with the artist but be able to purchase music direct from them at the artists rate. Their will be no direct links to free download sites as this defeats the purpose of the our IP, nor to companies making huge profits from the artist. Outtloud's Search Engine is based on artificial intelligence or natural language .  Bands list with us on www.outtloud.com or Myspace and we add them each separately to the search and directory. If you cannot find the band you are looking for, it means they have not submitted to the directory or we have not added them yet. Outtloud does not make any money  - its for artists who struggle to get noticed

VISION

We aim to: Become one of the most influential players in the independent music industry and internet community, Give the musician the priority in our search always,  charge only a small fee for feature artist advertising and provide a functional, ethical download service for musicians and listeners.

How it Works?

1. If you are looking for a band website, just type the name of the band and the search will put that band on the top of the search results most of the time.

2. Like Google etc, we have a directory of listings, which you can manually search from A - Z. The listing band name or picture can be clicked and you will go directly to the bands official site. No fan sites will ever be listed on our directory as they are rife with free downloads and rumor information on the artist. The search engine is separate from the listings and does not interact. This eliminates spam. It Works.

Why it Happened?

At Outtloud, we believe that bands need more control of their intellectual property and deserve the profits for their creativity. Outtloud has created a no cost medium for artists to promote their band to a wide user base worldwide using our music only search engine. Bands who have submitted to the search engine will be given priority placement above all other sites (Outtloud does list bands which have not submitted but gives priority is given to submitters). Users can search for their favorite bands and find you easily without searching through irrelevant pages. The idea was that the whole industry worked with an area that has a small amount of  concern for artist and no concern for the purchaser. The artist is often left with a small percentage of their profit unless they are marketable and young.
